Each month my upline leader challenges her team to make a card using very specific rules and colors. I have participated in these color challenges for 10 months now and it has helped me grow in my designing so much! Here’s the specifics: Use only the 3 colors given, Whisper White or Very Vanilla cardstock and black Momento ink.
November’s Challenge included the colors Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and So Saffron. Here’s what I came up with.
November’s Challenge included the colors Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and So Saffron. Here’s what I came up with.
I began with the base, which I created using the Buffalo Check Background Stamp inked in Cherry Cobbler. I then took an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and a ruler and drew lines throughout. I finished by taking the Early Espresso and So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers again and splattered some color using the lids to flick specks on there. I also sponged the edges in Early Espresso to distress the base even more.
Next up was the adorable buck from the Dashing Deer Stamp set. I stamped him in So Saffron and used the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to trace around the outside of the antlers to give it some dimension then stamped it down on a sheet of Whisper White cardstock.
Then I stamped the buck again in Early Espresso.
I cut out both bucks using the Detailed Deer Dies.
Trim the So Saffron buck and the antlers off of the Early Espresso buck. Attach the So Saffron buck to the back of the Early Espresso buck using Snail or liquid adhesive.
Stamp "Thinking of you at Christmas time", or the sentiment of your choice in Early Espresso ink. Tie a Whisper White bakers twine bow around your card and attach to the base using
Stampin' Dimensionals.
